ATC Train Systems Maintainer – London

About the role

Transport for London is seeking an ATC Train Systems Maintainer to ensure the reliability of Central Line Automatic Train Control (ATC) train‑borne equipment. You will investigate irregularities, perform corrective actions, and carry out planned maintenance to keep the rolling stock available for passenger service.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and rectify irregularities in Central Line ATC train‑borne systems.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on ATC equipment to the manufacturer’s specification.
• Perform casualty repairs and replace faulty components to keep rolling stock available for passenger service.
• Maintain accurate records of first‑line and second‑line testing activities.
• Develop and apply fault‑finding procedures and analyse data to improve system reliability.
• Support hardware/software changes associated with ATC upgrades, ensuring all safety approvals are in place.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering or technical qualification with appropriate licences for ATC maintenance.
• Experience working on railway rolling stock or similar high‑reliability systems.
• Ability to work rotating day/night shifts on an 8‑week roster.
• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
