Attendance Officer – School

About the role
We are looking for an Attendance Officer to join Queen Elizabeth’s School, part of the Ted Wragg Multi‑Academy Trust in Mid Devon. The post holder will manage the school’s attendance policy, helping to keep pupils safe and maximise their learning time.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer the school’s student attendance procedures.
- Monitor daily attendance data, identify patterns and intervene where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, students and external agencies to improve attendance.
- Prepare attendance reports for senior leadership and statutory bodies.
- Attend occasional meetings after the school day and contribute to safeguarding processes.
Required profile
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
- Strong organisational abilities and capacity to meet tight deadlines in a busy environment.
- Attention to detail when analysing attendance information.
- Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo enhanced DBS checks.
- Motivation to make a positive impact on young people’s education.
Required skills
- Proficient use of IT systems for data entry and reporting.
