Audit & Accounts Manager

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Audit & Accounts Manager to lead and manage audit and accounting engagements within a professional services environment in Eastbourne. The role combines audit work with accounts and tax responsibilities, delivering high‑quality services to a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit and accounts assignments from planning through to completion.
• Review and prepare statutory financial statements in line with relevant regulations.
• Provide expert advice to clients on accounting and tax matters.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial reports.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their professional development.
• Maintain strong client relationships and address client queries effectively.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client satisfaction.
• Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and industry regulations.
• Initially allocate approximately 25 % of time to audit work and 75 % to accounts/tax, with the audit portfolio expected to grow.

Required profile

• Recognised accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA).
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
• Experience managing client portfolios within a professional services setting.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
