Audit & Accounts Senior – Accounting & Auditing Specialist

About the role

The Audit & Accounts Senior role provides expert support in accounting and auditing for a well‑established small accountancy firm. Based in Dorking, this permanent position involves managing client accounts, ensuring compliance and delivering high‑quality financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for a portfolio of clients in line with accounting standards.
• Plan, lead and oversee audit assignments, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Provide technical advice on accounting and tax matters to clients.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, supporting their professional development.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across all engagements.
• Coordinate with clients to collect financial data and address queries.
• Identify opportunities to enhance client services and contribute to business growth.
• Prepare detailed reports and present findings to clients and senior management.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting, auditing and tax regulations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
