Audit Assistant Manager (Edinburgh)

About the role

We are looking for an Audit Assistant Manager to join our thriving independent firm of accountants and business advisors in Edinburgh. You will manage a varied client portfolio across sectors such as technology, healthcare, construction, manufacturing and charities, and lead audits with minimal support.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and lead audit engagements, reviewing work of junior staff and providing constructive feedback.
• Manage client relationships, understand industry contexts and deliver audit reports that exceed expectations.
• Design test procedures, identify control weaknesses and make recommendations to improve client systems.
• Prepare statutory accounts and draft corporation tax computations.
• Develop less‑experienced staff through on‑the‑job training and support their professional growth.

Required profile

• Qualified ACCA, ICAS or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of audit experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Strong work ethic, initiative and excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
• Effective oral and written communication with the ability to build client relationships.
