Audit Assistant Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced auditor to step into an Assistant Audit Manager position within a growing North West accountancy practice. You will own audit assignments, develop leadership skills, and work with a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Manage audit assignments from planning through completion.
• Lead audit teams, ensuring accurate, efficient work within deadlines.
• Serve as primary client contact throughout the audit process.
• Review audit files and work produced by junior and part‑qualified colleagues.
• Identify audit risks and assist in resolving technical issues.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts alongside audit work.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or approaching qualification.
• Strong external audit experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing assignments across the full audit cycle.
• Confident in supervising, coaching, and reviewing junior staff.
