About the role
An established accountancy practice in Newbury is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager to join its growing team. This position is ideal for an experienced Audit Senior ready to step up or an existing Assistant Manager looking for a clear path to Audit Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and manage audit assignments from inception to completion.
- Lead audits across a varied portfolio of clients and ensure high‑quality audit files.
- Review audit work, financial statements and identify technical issues.
- Supervise and support Audit Seniors, trainees and junior staff.
- Collaborate closely with Managers, Partners and clients.
- Take responsibility for budgets, deadlines and workflow.
Required profile
- ACA or ACCA qualified with solid audit experience.
- Currently operating at Assistant Manager level or a Senior ready for progression.
- Confident in managing audit assignments and supervising junior staff.
- Strong technical accounting and auditing knowledge.
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
- Organised, able to manage multiple assignments and ambitious to progress to Audit Manager.
