Audit Assistant / Semi‑Senior – Chartered Accountancy Firm

About the role

TPF Recruitment is partnering with a respected chartered accountancy firm in the South East to hire an Audit Assistant or Semi‑Senior. The successful candidate will join a growing audit team, working on a varied portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and corporate clients. This position offers solid training, clear progression and the chance to develop audit and accounting expertise in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with statutory audits for limited companies across multiple sectors.
• Prepare statutory accounts and supporting working papers.
• Carry out substantive testing and analytical review work.
• Support the preparation of corporation tax computations.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries professionally.
• Collaborate with senior team members to deliver assignments efficiently and accurately.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an external audit role within an accountancy practice.
• Exposure to audit assignments for UK limited companies.
• Studying ACA or ACCA, or qualified by experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage deadlines.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Salary £28,000‑£36,000 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.
