Audit Director (Route to Partner) – Milton Keynes

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established accountancy firm in Milton Keynes that is investing heavily in its next generation of leaders. As an Audit Director (Route to Partner), you will move beyond execution to shaping strategy, culture, and the path toward partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior partners to define firm strategy and drive sustainable profitability.
• Lead audit engagements for large and listed clients, balancing hands‑on delivery with strategic oversight.
• Build, develop, and nurture a high‑performing audit team, fostering an inclusive and resilient culture.
• Take increasing responsibility for Responsible Individual (RI) duties, owning client relationships and outcomes.
• Contribute to succession planning and the firm’s growth trajectory.

Required profile

• Solid experience at or near Audit Director level within a mid‑tier or larger practice.
• Proven track record managing large and listed client portfolios.
• Commercial mindset with an ownership attitude.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership skills, capable of building and developing teams.
• RI status or a clear pathway toward it is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Salary between £90,000 and £110,000 per year, plus bonus.
