Audit Manager – Accountancy Practice

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join a well‑established independent accountancy practice in Haslemere. You will report directly to directors and partners, overseeing a mixed portfolio of commercial and not‑for‑profit clients while enjoying a hybrid working model and a strong work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of commercial and not‑for‑profit audit assignments.
• Ensure audits are completed on time, meeting firm procedures and quality standards.
• Brief and supervise audit staff, providing on‑the‑job training.
• Liaise with senior client staff to align audit work with agreed terms.
• Identify and resolve key audit matters in consultation with clients, directors/partners and technical teams.
• Present findings at client audit committee and board meetings.
• Support business development activities, including tender participation.
• Occasionally prepare accounts when desired and be hands‑on to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent) with extensive UK practice experience.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality audits and managing client relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
