Audit Manager – Audit & Accounts

About the role

We are seeking an Audit Manager to lead audit and accounts engagements for a high‑growth top‑40 accountancy practice serving clients in London and the Home Counties. The role combines audit delivery, team supervision and financial reporting, with a split of roughly 75% audit and 25% accounts work.

Key responsibilities

• Control and deliver all audit plans, ensuring compliance with audit standards and internal procedures.
• Supervise Audit Seniors and Account Supervisors, providing on‑the‑job training and performing spot checks before partner review.
• Assist partners in managing client portfolios and addressing technical audit issues.
• Prepare and review work papers, draft financial statements and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Plan and oversee larger, complex or high‑profile audits, coordinating with Client Account Managers.
• Monitor budgets, track team performance against targets and contribute to budgetary planning.
• Identify process improvement opportunities for clients and deliver recommendations.
• Organise audit training sessions and reviews with audit principals.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant.
• Strong staff management experience within a top‑100 or reputable regional accountancy firm.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of current auditing techniques, UK GAAP and IAS.
• Professional, credible image with confident communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, energetic and able to take initiative with excellent planning and organisational abilities.
