Audit Manager – Central Reading Team

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our central Reading team, supporting a client base across the South East, Thames Valley and London. You will lead audit engagements, supervise senior staff and ensure high‑quality delivery in line with professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Control all audit plans and delivery, meeting budgets and targets.
• Supervise Audit Seniors, providing on‑the‑job training and conducting spot checks.
• Assist Partners with client portfolio management and ensure compliance with audit standards and internal procedures.
• Organise audit training, reviews and technical checks with the Head of Audit.
• Prepare and review work papers, drafts of financial statements and address technical audit issues with clients.
• Identify improvement areas in client financial processes and provide recommendations.
• Plan and manage larger, more complex or high‑profile audits.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant.
• Experience in a Top100 or highly regarded regional accountancy firm.
• Strong staff management and communication skills.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of current auditing techniques and UK GAAP.
• Self‑motivated, energetic and able to take initiative.
• Excellent planning, organisational and team‑working abilities.
