Audit Manager – Commercial Audits

About the role

We are partnering with a leading challenger accountancy firm in London that is expanding its audit practice. The Audit Manager will lead a portfolio of commercial audit clients, delivering high‑quality audit engagements from planning through to completion while working closely with partners on technical matters and client service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of commercial audit clients, including listed companies and multinational private businesses.
• Lead all audit phases, from planning and fieldwork to reporting and final sign‑off.
• Advise partners on audit opinions, technical issues and financial reporting matters.
• Identify accounting and reporting issues, propose practical solutions and involve specialists when required.
• Supervise and review the work of audit teams, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Develop strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services.
• Contribute to business development through networking and marketing activities.
• Mentor, appraise and support the development of junior staff.
• Assist with division‑wide initiatives such as resourcing, recruitment and staff development.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2‑3 years of post‑qualified audit experience in a practice environment.
• Proven experience managing a client portfolio and delivering audit engagements.
• Good knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102; listed audit experience is a plus.
• Strong client‑facing and communication skills.
