Audit Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a long‑established independent accountancy and advisory practice in Yorkshire to recruit an Audit Manager. The successful candidate will lead audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from owner‑managed businesses to large corporate groups, and will act as a trusted adviser throughout the audit process.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit and assurance clients across multiple sectors.
• Plan, execute and review audit assignments from start to finish, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Lead and develop audit teams, providing coaching, technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Maintain and grow client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional advisory services.
• Control audit budgets, timelines and resource allocation.
• Support partners in business development and networking activities.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with proven experience managing audits in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK audit and accounting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to develop junior staff and manage multiple assignments.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to service delivery.
