Audit Manager

About the role

A well‑established accountancy practice in Newbury is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead a varied portfolio of audit clients. This senior position offers increased responsibility, the chance to mentor junior staff, and clear progression opportunities within the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients from planning through to completion.
• Review audit files and financial statements to ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Supervise and mentor Audit Seniors and Assistant Managers.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve audit issues.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Liaise with Partners and Directors on client matters.
• Manage workflow, deadlines and team resources.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and client service.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Proven experience within an accountancy practice at Manager or senior Assistant Manager level.
• Strong audit experience, confident managing audits from planning to completion.
• Experience supervising and developing junior team members.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
