Audit Senior – 80% Audit, 20% Accounts

About the role

We are partnering with a Top 15 Accountancy Firm to recruit a qualified Audit Senior for their Milton Keynes office. The role combines 80% audit work with 20% accounts responsibilities, supporting a portfolio of large owner‑managed businesses up to £300m turnover.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client audits and assist with complex corporate audits using computerised audit systems.
• Produce audit files for review by the Audit Manager/Director and provide general assistance to junior audit and business service team members.
• Plan smaller audit assignments, meet agreed budgets and client deadlines.
• Set objectives for graduate audit staff, supervise on‑site work, review outputs and coach junior members.
• Assist with audits across sectors such as IT/Hi‑Tech, Consumer Services, Manufacturing, Logistics and Legal Services.
• Prepare accounts, group accounts, partnerships, LLPs and related tax computations.
• Liaise directly with senior management of audit clients and other external stakeholders.
• Ensure work is delivered profitably, on time and in line with firm standards, including filing accounts with Companies House.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA auditor/audit & accounts senior, preferably degree‑educated.
• Extensive practice experience within an accountancy practice.
• Demonstrated staff management skills.
• Access to a personal car for client travel.
