Audit Senior / Assistant Manager – Accountancy Practice

About the role

As an Audit Senior / Assistant Manager in an award‑recognised audit function, you will join a well‑established professional services firm in Milton Keynes. The role offers a high‑responsibility portfolio, exposure to diverse clients and technically challenging assignments, all within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, lead and complete audit assignments across a wide range of clients and sectors.
• Supervise and support junior team members throughout fieldwork and address technical queries.
• Manage audit files to completion, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance with deadlines.
• Prepare statutory financial statements, including consolidated accounts under relevant reporting standards.
• Draft corporation tax computations and support broader compliance work.
• Produce clear, commercially‑focused recommendations following audit fieldwork.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong working relationships.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or actively working towards qualification with strong exam progression.
• Solid background in external audit within a professional practice environment.
• Strong technical understanding of financial reporting and audit methodology.
• Confident communicator able to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise workload and take ownership of assignments.
• Experience reviewing and supporting junior team members is highly desirable.
• Exposure to complex or varied client structures would be advantageous.
