Audit Senior / Assistant Manager

About the role

Are you an Audit Senior or Assistant Manager looking for more responsibility, a stronger development pathway and a supportive culture? Our client is a well‑established, expanding accountancy practice with offices across Central and Southern England. They are seeking an ambitious Audit Senior or Assistant Manager to join their Hampshire team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a variety of audit assignments across multiple sectors, managing fieldwork and supporting junior staff.
• Prepare audit files, own planning and support fieldwork.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, reviewing their work and providing on‑the‑job training.
• Ensure audits are completed on time, within budget and to a high standard.
• Prepare statutory accounts under UK GAAP and corporation tax computations.
• Maintain strong technical knowledge and stay up‑to‑date with industry developments.
• Support pricing discussions and new client proposals.
• Build positive relationships internally and with clients.
• Use modern software such as IRIS, Silverfin, CaseWare, Xero and Sage.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Minimum 3 years experience in UK audit practice.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP financial reporting.
• Strong communicator with excellent client‑facing skills.
• Ability to produce high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Positive, professional, organised and adaptable.
• Team player with a can‑do attitude.
• Strong Excel skills and quick to learn new systems.
• Experience from a mid‑tier or reputable medium‑sized practice is welcomed.
