Audit Senior Associate – Not‑for‑Profit

About the role

Join a respected mid‑tier accountancy firm’s Social Purpose team as an Audit Senior Associate. You will lead audits for charities, medical research organisations, membership bodies and independent schools, working from a collaborative London office and visiting client sites as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Act as senior on audits, reporting to the Audit Manager.
• Plan and execute audits from start to finish, including drafting financial statements.
• Prepare management letters and letters of representation.
• Supervise and delegate work to junior staff (teams of up to five) and review their output.
• Liaise regularly with managers on audit progress.
• Identify improvements in client systems and controls.
• Stay up‑to‑date with audit and accounting standards.
• Provide technical input to the wider Social Purpose team.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA part‑qualified (or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading audits from planning through completion.
• Strong technical understanding of audit and accounting standards.
• Ability to supervise and review junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills and client‑facing confidence.
• Attention to detail, proactive and commercially aware.
• Interest or exposure to the charity / not‑for‑profit sector.

Required skills

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Audit standards knowledge.
• Accounting standards knowledge.
• Advanced Excel.
• Data analytics tools (advantageous).
