Audit Senior – Audit & Accounts (South Coast)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Audit Senior / Audit & Accounts Senior to join a Top20 accountancy firm on the South Coast, near Bournemouth/Poole. The role involves managing a portfolio of clients across a wide range of sectors, with an approximate split of 80% audit work and 20% accounts work.

Key responsibilities

• Support Audit Managers and gain exposure to accounting and audit issues under UK and international standards.
• Audit UK and international businesses across sectors such as healthcare, energy, marine, engineering, manufacturing, construction, transportation and other services (up to £100m turnover).
• Act as the main point of contact for UK‑based clients or UK subsidiaries of overseas parents.
• Assist in planning audit assignments, achieve agreed budgets and meet deadlines.
• Set objectives for graduate/junior audit staff, supervise on‑site work, review audit files and provide coaching.
• Liaise closely with audit clients and stakeholders to build long‑term relationships.
• Ensure audit and year‑end accounting work is completed profitably, on time and in line with internal processes.
• Assist in preparing statutory accounts and conduct final audit review meetings with managers or directors.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA Audit Senior / Audit & Accounts Senior.
• Degree‑educated preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ practice experience in audit.
• Some staff management experience.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and audit software.
