Audit Senior – Chichester

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Audit Senior to take ownership of a portfolio of audit assignments, lead fieldwork and act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. This hands‑on, client‑facing role requires technical confidence, strong organisation and a drive to develop both the team and your own career.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of allocated audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring adherence to quality and technical standards.
• Arrange and chair audit planning meetings, setting the tone for each engagement.
• Prepare or delegate key audit work within agreed budgets and liaise with senior managers on complex or high‑risk areas.
• Monitor progress across multiple engagements, maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams.
• Research technical issues and escalate complex matters appropriately.
• Prepare final audit files, including Going Concern assessments and Key Audit Findings reports.
• Manage audit file administration to ensure completeness and review readiness.
• Act as the main contact for nominated clients throughout fieldwork, maintaining relationship momentum.
• Ensure client compliance requirements such as AML checks, KYC reviews and engagement letters are in place.
• Supervise, coach and review the work of semi‑seniors and assistants.
• Coordinate with outsourced or offshore team members as required.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Solid, practical experience delivering audit fieldwork across a range of client types and sizes.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Supervising and coaching junior audit staff.
