Audit Senior – External Audit Specialist

About the role

Join a leading professional services firm as an Audit Senior – External Audit Specialist, working within a well‑established accountancy practice in Central London. You will own audit fieldwork, build client relationships and supervise junior team members while gaining exposure to complex audit engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support audit fieldwork from planning through to completion.
• Coordinate audit assignments, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and deadlines.
• Run planning meetings and support risk‑assessment processes.
• Review and delegate work to assistants and semi‑seniors.
• Prepare completion sections, including key audit findings and going‑concern assessments.
• Liaise with clients throughout the audit lifecycle to maintain strong communication.
• Resolve technical queries and escalate complex issues where necessary.
• Ensure audit files are fully prepared for manager and partner review.
• Support billing preparation and workflow tracking.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across audit processes.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Strong background in external audit within a professional services setting.
• Confident supervising junior staff and reviewing audit work.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively.
• Proactive and detail‑oriented approach.
