Audit Senior – Hybrid Role in Portsmouth

About the role

Pro‑Finance is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join its growing Audit & Assurance team in Portsmouth. This hybrid role offers the chance to lead audit engagements, mentor junior staff, and work with a diverse client portfolio in a supportive, people‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, including on‑site fieldwork and substantive testing.
• Prepare statutory financial statements from client records.
• Identify risk areas, report findings to managers and partners, and ensure high‑quality documentation.
• Support and mentor junior team members, reviewing their work and providing guidance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification (or finalist).
• Previous audit experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of audit and accounting standards.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Proactive, collaborative approach.
