Audit Senior

About the role

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well‑regarded accountancy firm in Sutton that is expanding its audit team. This senior position offers a qualified accountant the chance to work closely with commercial and charity clients in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion for commercial and charity clients.
• Ensure audit files are clear, complete and well organised.
• Review client records, analyse accounting data and provide practical recommendations.
• Maintain alignment with regulatory standards, internal methodology and risk‑management expectations.
• Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted point of contact.
• Identify client needs and implement effective solutions.
• Respond promptly to queries while maintaining a professional tone.
• Support and develop junior team members.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver timely, accurate work.
• Prepare and review accounts, tax filings, VAT submissions and PAYE documents.
• Manage workload to meet deadlines and ensure sign‑off readiness.
• Utilise tools and technology to drive efficiency and uphold high standards.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with ACCA or ACA (part‑qualified candidates considered with relevant experience).
• Strong UK audit experience within a practice environment.
• Experience overseeing, coaching and supporting junior staff.
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in client service.
• Confident IT skills with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Methodical approach, strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Dependable, motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
