Audit Senior – Manchester

About the role

We are seeking an Audit Senior to join our award‑winning accountancy and business advisory firm in Manchester. You will lead audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of UK and international clients, ensuring compliance with ICAEW standards and delivering high‑quality audit evidence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion for UK and international clients.
• Develop audit plans, programmes and risk‑based testing strategies, including substantive testing and analytical procedures.
• Prepare working papers and document findings using CaseWare and IDEA.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS, UK GAAP and other regulatory frameworks.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify control weaknesses and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain effective client communication and build strong relationships.
• Coordinate with tax teams to incorporate relevant tax knowledge where appropriate.
• Mentor junior team members and support their professional development.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure timely delivery.

Required profile

• ACCA member (or equivalent qualification) with at least 3 years of audit experience, preferably in a UK‑based practice.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of ICAEW auditing standards, IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
