Audit Senior – Owner‑Managed Business Portfolio

About the role

This senior audit position combines 80% audit work with 20% accounts preparation for a top‑20 accountancy firm in Reading. You will manage a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and lead a small team of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute client audits, including complex corporate audits, using computerised audit systems.
• Produce audit files for review by the Audit Manager/Director and ensure timely delivery.
• Supervise and coach junior and graduate staff, setting objectives and reviewing on‑site work.
• Prepare accounts, group accounts, partnerships, LLPs and tax computations.
• Maintain close liaison with finance directors and external stakeholders.
• Ensure profitability, adherence to firm standards and submission of accounts to Companies House.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA audit professional.
• Typically 18–36 months post‑qualification experience, with experience in audit and accounts.
• Experience managing a portfolio of businesses up to £80m turnover.
• Ability to travel locally; own car required.
