Audit Trainee – Winnersh (£28k‑£33k + ACA Support)

About the role

The audit team in Winnersh is seeking an ambitious Audit Trainee to join a well‑established accountancy practice. This full‑time position offers exposure to the complete audit lifecycle, regular interaction with senior professionals and a clear pathway towards ACA qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and risk‑assessment for statutory audit engagements.
• Perform sampling, testing and substantive procedures, including reconciliations and working papers.
• Conduct walkthroughs of internal controls, stock counts and minutes reviews.
• Prepare audit files and deliverables, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the audit team and travel to client sites as required.

Required profile

• 6‑12 months audit experience within an accountancy practice.
• Currently studying for the ACA qualification or committed to starting it.
• Strong communication skills and confidence when dealing with clients.
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Valid driving licence preferred for client travel.
