Autism Learning Support Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Autism Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic team within a well‑respected academy trust. The role is full‑time, term‑time only, and offers the chance to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a mainstream school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emotional and sensory regulation support to pupils with autism and other SEND profiles.
• Assist teachers and SENCOs in developing and delivering tailored learning activities.
• Manage challenging behaviours and help implement positive behaviour strategies.
• Ensure the safety and well‑being of students throughout the school day.
• Collaborate closely with classroom staff and external professionals to meet individual learning plans.

Required profile

• Passionate about SEND and committed to helping pupils achieve their potential.
• Experience working with children, preferably in a similar support role or as a psychology graduate.
• Resilient, patient and proactive with a flexible, team‑oriented approach.
• Available to work Monday‑Friday, 08:30‑15:30, term‑time only.
