Autism Support Worker – Full‑time – Wantage

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a vibrant school in Wantage. The role involves supporting children with autism, ADHD, learning and behavioural difficulties, helping them engage fully in classroom activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in preparing learning materials and daily lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one and group support to students with autism and other special educational needs.
• Help children complete classroom tasks and promote a positive learning environment.
• Monitor and record pupils’ progress and share observations with staff.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

Required profile

• Experience working with SEN children (or a strong interest).
• Patient, nurturing, and eager to learn.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Ability to bring a fun, engaging element to the classroom.
