Auto Electrician

About the role

We are seeking an Auto Electrician to join our busy depot in Keighley. You will work with complex diagnostic systems on buses, helping keep local communities moving and supporting the shift to greener transportation.

Key responsibilities

• Use advanced diagnostic equipment, multimeters and laptops to connect to the bus Engine Control Unit (ECU) and identify system faults.
• Repair or replace alternators, starter motors, battery banks and faulty wiring in line with DVSA safety regulations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot multiplex wiring networks that control doors, lighting and engine components.
• Install and service passenger‑facing technology such as security cameras, telematics, passenger counting sensors and electronic ticketing machines.

Required profile

• Responsible for repairing and maintaining company vehicles to DVSA or higher standards.
• Capable of servicing major unit changes and performing preventative maintenance.
• Able to carry out roadside and running repairs as required.
• Hold an NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in PCV/HGV engineering.
