Auto Electrician – Vehicle Electrical Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join a client’s workshop in Billingham. The role involves maintaining and repairing the electrical systems of a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, offering a hands‑on environment for those with a strong engineering background.

Key responsibilities

• Wire, test and maintain electrical systems on commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on both new and older vehicles.
• Carry out routine electrical maintenance and functional checks.
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns as required.
• Assist field engineers with technical expertise.
• Coordinate with the parts department to order correct components.
• Complete job cards, timesheets and related documentation accurately.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and workshop organization.
• Prioritise workload to meet deadlines while following health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background focused on vehicle systems.
• Passion for delivering high‑quality maintenance and repair work.
• Solid experience as an electrician, ideally with relevant qualifications.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
