Automatic & Industrial Door Engineer – North East

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automatic & Industrial Door Engineer to service the North East region. The role is field‑based, covering Durham and surrounding areas, and involves installing, maintaining and repairing a range of door, gate and barrier systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install automatic and industrial door systems for commercial and industrial clients.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance according to weekly schedules.
• Perform reactive repairs and respond to emergency call‑outs as required.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate progress to the dispatch team.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ field experience in the automatic door industry.
• Strong work ethic, reliable and able to work independently.
• Proactive, “can‑do” attitude and commitment to high‑quality service.
• Willingness to stay up‑to‑date with the latest door technologies.

Required skills

• Automatic door system installation.
• Preventative maintenance of industrial doors, gates and barriers.
• Reactive repair and troubleshooting of door mechanisms.
• Emergency call‑out response and safe working practices.
