Automation Machines and Systems Engineer

About the role

Airbus Broughton is looking for an Automation Machines and Systems Engineer to join the Automation team responsible for deploying and supporting automated machinery used in the manufacture of aircraft wing structures and sub‑assemblies. The role involves working on a range of equipment from large milling machines to collaborative robots, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Define requirements for new automated machines and systems, manage their installation, testing, acceptance and entry into service.
• Develop improvement ideas and new processes for existing automated machines.
• Manage capital investment projects and participate in multi‑functional teams to deliver actions on time and within budget.
• Oversee the CapEx process for medium‑scale and high‑value investment projects.
• Provide automation support to other Airbus departments and suppliers.
• Offer problem‑solving expertise and technical knowledge to resolve automation issues.

Required profile

• Eligibility to obtain UK SC Security Clearance.
• Proven experience in managing capital investment and CapEx projects.
• Ability to work effectively in multi‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
