Automation Test Engineer – API & Integration Testing

About the role

The Automation Test Engineer will design and implement automated testing across a multi‑supplier platform, covering case management, CRM, government integrations, handheld applications, payment services, BI/reporting and Azure integrations. The role is hybrid, primarily remote with occasional visits to the Manchester office and other sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain API and integration test automation.
• Implement contract testing across key interfaces.
• Automate case lifecycle and state‑transition testing.
• Validate integrations with DVLA, payment systems, BI and handheld solutions.
• Support supplier assurance and review testing evidence.
• Automate BI/reporting reconciliation and KPI validation.
• Create repeatable test data and regression suites.
• Support performance, auditability and resilience testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in API and integration test automation.
• Hands‑on experience with contract testing.
• Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience testing distributed and event‑driven systems.
• Ability to manage test data and validate reporting.
• Strong troubleshooting and log analysis skills.

What we offer

• Rate of £500 per day (outside IR35).
• Contract from August 2026 to 28 February 2027.
• Hybrid working – primarily remote with 1‑2 days per month onsite.
