Automation Tester

About the role

This position is for an Automation Tester who will join a SaaS development team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, with the intention to become permanent. The role is based at Cobalt Business Park, requiring three days on‑site each week and offering a hybrid working pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated functional test scripts for SaaS applications.
• Utilise test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Karate, Rest‑assured and Wiremock.
• Collaborate with business users to define manual test cases and translate requirements into automated tests.
• Identify, log and track defects using defect‑management tools.
• Support continuous integration pipelines by integrating automated tests.

Required profile

• UK national or settled status with at least five years continuous UK residence.
• Proven experience automating functional testing of SaaS software.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a structured testing environment and manage defect lifecycles.
• Strong analytical skills to differentiate defects from enhancements.

Required skills

• Java programming for test script development.
• Automation tools: Selenium, Cucumber, Karate, Rest‑assured, Wiremock.
• Defect‑management tools: JIRA, Bugzilla, HP ALM.
• Scripting languages: Python, Node.js, Typescript, PowerShell, Bash.
