Automotive Engineering Learning Coach & Tutor

About the role

This is an exciting full‑time position supporting automotive engineering apprentices across the Wythenshawe and Winsford campuses, with regular travel to employer sites throughout the North West. The role blends classroom teaching, practical workshop delivery, coaching, assessment and End‑Point Assessment preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of apprentices, delivering regular coaching sessions and workplace visits.
• Monitor learner progress, ensure apprenticeship requirements are met and provide feedback.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers and workplace mentors.
• Assess, mark and provide action‑planning support to drive learner achievement.
• Deliver practical automotive and engineering skills training in workshops and classrooms.
• Prepare learners for End‑Point Assessment, including practical observations and professional discussions.
• Maintain accurate learner records, compliance documentation and promote safeguarding, equality and inclusion.

Required profile

• Relevant occupational experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, bus & coach or related engineering sectors.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or assessing apprentices.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize workload effectively.
• Good IT proficiency and experience using learner management systems.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the North West.
• Desirable: teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 DET or equivalent).
