Automotive Mechanic – Full Time

About the role

Arnold Clark is looking for a dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join its Bearsden service centre. You will work on a wide range of Renault/Dacia vehicles, delivering high‑quality servicing, repairs and maintenance while supporting the transition to electric vehicle technology.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components and diagnose issues using computer‑based diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace defective parts and perform road‑testing to confirm repairs.
• Conduct DVSA vehicle testing where authorised.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good condition.
• Follow checklists and complete all required documentation accurately.

Required profile

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3.
• Solid experience in the automotive industry.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a busy team.
• Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail.
• Proactive, enthusiastic approach with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 certification.
• Proficiency with computer‑based diagnostic equipment.
• Experience in DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
