AV Technical Estimator – Residential Custom Install

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AV Technical Estimator to lead the design and costing of bespoke residential audio‑visual and smart‑home installations. The role works closely with M&E contractors, design consultancies and large‑scale residential developers to translate briefs into detailed AutoCAD drawings and project documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret design briefs from contractors and developers into full AV design documents.
• Create detailed AutoCAD schematics for AV, lighting, and networking systems.
• Develop accurate cost estimates and bill of quantities for custom installations.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure design feasibility.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical specifications and documentation throughout project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in AV MDU and bespoke residential installations.
• Legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom and residing in the UK.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to produce cost‑effective designs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD at a professional level.
• Hands‑on experience with Crestron and Lutron control systems.
• Knowledge of CEDIA‑standard custom installation practices.
• Home networking expertise (Cisco, Draytek, Ruckus).
• Speaker and projection system deployment.
• Technical drawing, design documentation and cost estimation.
