AWS Infrastructure Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

Oscar Technology is seeking an experienced AWS Infrastructure Engineer to join a hybrid team in Cheltenham. You will be responsible for designing, maintaining and optimising a secure, resilient AWS environment that supports the company’s cloud transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise AWS services across multiple environments, including EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, Route 53, ELB, CloudWatch and KMS.
• Design and implement secure networking solutions such as VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPNs, security groups and NACLs.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform for repeatable deployments.
• Administer Windows and Linux cloud servers, handling patching, performance tuning and availability.
• Monitor health, capacity and performance, and proactively recommend improvements.
• Support backup, disaster‑recovery and business‑continuity planning for the AWS estate.
• Implement cloud security controls, identity management, encryption and access policies.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and networking incidents and produce technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an AWS Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer or Systems Engineer.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of core AWS services and networking concepts.
• Experience with Windows Server and/or Linux administration in AWS.
• Good understanding of infrastructure security, backup strategies and high‑availability design.
• Ability to work collaboratively with security, operations and development teams.
