About the role
Phoenix is looking for an AWS Solutions Specialist to join its Solutions Team and help grow the AWS partnership across the UK public sector. This hands‑on sales and pre‑sales position will shape AWS propositions, support go‑to‑market activities and drive opportunities from discovery to close.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of AWS sales strategy and go‑to‑market plans.
- Work with sales teams to identify, qualify and progress AWS opportunities for existing and new customers.
- Develop sector‑aligned AWS propositions with clear customer outcomes and value.
- Enable internal sales teams through training, updates and guidance on positioning AWS solutions.
- Lead customer discovery conversations to shape solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Contribute to bids, tenders and customer proposals.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, activity tracking and forecasting using D365 and internal systems.
- Collaborate with AWS and partner vendors to support deal progression, funding programmes and joint opportunities.
- Manage vendor portals and deal registration processes, ensuring compliance.
- Track incentive programmes, funding opportunities and partner benefits.
- Create and maintain sales enablement and marketing materials such as playbooks, pitch decks and one‑pagers.
- Communicate across Teams channels and internal forums to keep stakeholders aligned.
- Build strong relationships across sales, delivery and vendor teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, collaboration and speed from lead to close.
- Stay up to date with AWS services, partner solutions and broader cloud technologies.
Required profile
- Experience in IT sales, pre‑sales or a solutions role, preferably with exposure to cloud technologies.
- Knowledge or experience of AWS solutions, services or the partner ecosystem.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear customer value.
- Proven ability to run effective discovery conversations and understand customer requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience managing pipeline, reporting and CRM systems (e.g., D365).
- Confidence working with internal and external stakeholders across multiple teams.
- Ability to identify cross‑sell and up‑sell opportunities.
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn in a fast‑moving environment.
- GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent) or comparable qualifications.
