B1.3 Licensed Aircraft Engineer – Day Shift (Shawbury)

About the role

Airbus Helicopters UK Ltd is seeking a UK CAA B1.3 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to support the Military Flying Training System (MFTS) at RAF Shawbury. The role works a day‑shift pattern, delivering serviceable helicopters for daily flight programmes while ensuring compliance with aviation regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance inspections, repairs and certifications on airframe, power‑plant, mechanical, electrical and avionics systems.
• Supervise fitters, certify their work and assist with hangar operations including aircraft movement and housekeeping.
• Ensure all work meets UK CAA Part 145, Part CAMO and company procedures.
• Support the delivery of aircraft to meet the daily flying schedule for the MFTS.

Required profile

• Valid UK CAA Part 66 B1.3 licence (or ability to obtain).
• Working knowledge of UK CAA regulations (Part 145, Part CAMO, UK ANO).
• Thorough understanding of engine and airframe systems.
• Experience in an aviation engineering environment and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• UK CAA Part 66 B1.3 licence.
• Familiarity with Airbus EC135 T3H and BK117 D2 aircraft types.
• Knowledge of airframe, power‑plant, mechanical, electrical and avionics maintenance procedures.
