About the role
The role is for a UK CAA B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer supporting the Military Flying Training System (MFTS) at RAF Shawbury. Reporting to the Line Maintenance Manager, you will ensure serviceable aircraft for the daily flying programme while complying with aviation regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver serviceable aircraft to meet the daily flying programme.
- Ensure compliance with UK CAA regulations and company procedures.
- Carry out maintenance inspections and repairs as directed.
- Perform electrical and avionics system maintenance to a high standard.
- Supervise maintenance fitters and certify their work.
- Assist in day‑to‑day hangar operations, including aircraft movement and housekeeping.
Required profile
- Working knowledge of UK CAA regulations (Part 145, Part CAMO, UK ANO).
- Thorough knowledge of electrical and avionics systems.
- Experience in an aviation engineering environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under own initiative.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Flexibility to meet customer and company needs.
- Operational resilience and collaborative problem‑solving.
Required skills
- Valid UK CAA Part 66 B2 Licence.
- Knowledge of electrical systems.
- Knowledge of avionics systems.
- Familiarity with UK CAA Part 145 regulations.
- Familiarity with UK CAA Part CAMO regulations.
