Back End Development Lead

About the role

We are partnering with a technology‑led organisation to hire a Senior Back‑End Developer who will lead a high‑performing engineering squad. The role blends hands‑on development with coaching, architecture design and cross‑functional collaboration in a fully remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the full software lifecycle – discovery, planning, build, release and monitoring.
• Coach and mentor other backend developers, guiding technical decisions and best practices.
• Steer backend architecture, ensuring scalability and reliability of micro‑services.
• Deliver backlog items both independently and through team support.
• Collaborate with Front‑End, QA and DevOps teammates to meet sprint goals.
• Contribute to legacy system migration while maintaining existing services.

Required profile

• Strong passion for building scalable software.
• Experience mentoring engineers and shaping architecture.
• Commitment to continuous technical and cultural improvement.
• Ability to work in an agile, two‑week sprint environment.

Required skills

• Azure cloud platform (Front Door, App Services, Application Insights, App Configuration).
• SQL Server.
• Cosmos DB.
• Azure Service Bus.
• Microservices architecture.
