Backend Engineer

About the role

Obsidian Security is looking for a Backend Engineer to help build and scale the core SaaS security platform used by enterprises worldwide. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment where learning and adaptability are encouraged.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend systems that power Obsidian’s core product.
• Implement scalable, reliable, and performant features and services.
• Build and maintain APIs and backend services under senior‑engineer guidance.
• Support improvements to existing systems to enhance resilience and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to raise engineering standards.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, or SQL.
• Experience building backend services and APIs.
• Familiarity with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of core software‑engineering principles and clean‑code practices.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
• Eagerness to learn, accept feedback, and grow technical expertise.
