Bakery Machine Operative

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Multi‑Skilled Operative to run extrusion machines in a busy bakery environment producing high‑quality crackerbread. The role is based in Poole, Dorset and offers an immediate start with rotating shift patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Operate extrusion machinery to set parameters and follow bakery SOPs.
• Set up machines for specific recipes and monitor the extrusion process, making adjustments as needed.
• Carry out and record all required process checks.
• Identify and correct simple faults; escalate complex issues to the Team Leader or Engineering.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and food‑safety standards (HACCP, BRC, IFS, Femas).
• Respond to emergencies and follow safety procedures.

Required profile

• Good understanding of bakery processes and ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced setting.
• Strong decision‑making and risk‑identification skills for health, safety and food safety.
• Ability to build effective relationships across departments.
