Band 2/3 Phlebotomy Locum – Brighton

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Phlebotomist to provide a high‑quality blood collection service across wards and outpatient settings. The successful candidate will support patient care by delivering safe and compassionate venepuncture in a respected NHS hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and capillary blood sampling in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Ensure accurate patient identification and correct labelling of specimens.
• Deliver a professional, compassionate service to patients at all times.
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
• Accurately record and process samples for laboratory analysis.
• Work collaboratively with nursing, medical, and laboratory staff.
• Manage workload efficiently during core working hours.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Phlebotomist (NHS experience preferred).
• Competency in venepuncture and blood collection techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and patient dignity.
• Up‑to‑date mandatory training or willingness to complete it.
