Band 3 Physiotherapy Support Worker – Part‑time (18 hrs)

About the role

The Physiotherapy Support Worker will join the physiotherapy team on the Oncology and Haematology wards at Western General Hospital. Working 18 hours per week on a permanent basis, you will help deliver rehabilitation to frail, acutely unwell patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physiotherapists in delivering prescribed exercise programmes.
• Support gait re‑education and general rehabilitation activities.
• Order and manage physiotherapy equipment.
• Carry out routine administrative tasks related to patient care.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient handling.

Required profile

• Motivated and enthusiastic with a strong interest in patient rehabilitation.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in an acute hospital setting, especially with frail patients, is desirable.
• Previous experience as a physiotherapy assistant or similar role is beneficial.
