Band 5 Occupational Therapist – Locum (15 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking a locum Occupational Therapist to support a specialist Level 2 inpatient rehabilitation service for adult males detained under the Mental Health Act. The role is based in a private hospital in Salford and is offered at Band 5 equivalent level for 15 hours per week, with flexible day‑to‑day scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive OT assessments, including MOHO (Model of Human Occupation) evaluations.
• Develop and deliver individualized therapeutic interventions for inpatient mental health patients.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create and review care plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
• Provide supervision and support to junior staff when required.

Required profile

• Previous Band 5 equivalent OT experience, preferably in an inpatient mental health setting.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a flexible schedule, including weekends.
• Minimum of 5 weekday hours to accommodate clinical supervision.
• Band 6 applicants will also be considered.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MOHO assessment tools.
