Band 5 Registered Nurse – Community Outpatient Services

About the role

This full‑time Band 5 Registered Nurse position is based in the Community Planned Care Business Unit, supporting outpatient services across several community hospitals in Derbyshire. The role offers varied clinical exposure in multiple specialties and requires regular travel between sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, patient‑centred nursing care in outpatient clinics.
• Work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams across Long Eaton, Ilkeston, Heanor, Ripley, Ashbourne and Derby sites.
• Adapt to flexible shift patterns, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Support the delivery of outpatient services and assist with teaching or preceptorship where applicable.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Evidence of recent personal development and up‑to‑date clinical competencies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
• Own a car and hold a valid driver’s licence (essential for cross‑site work).
• Desire to work in an outpatient setting; NHS or outpatient experience desirable but not mandatory.
• Teaching or preceptorship qualification is beneficial.
