Band 5 Speech & Language Therapist – Fixed Term

About the role

Join the Children’s Therapy Team in Surrey as a Band 5 Speech & Language Therapist on a fixed‑term contract. You will work with children and young people who have a wide range of speech, language, communication and feeding needs, delivering high‑quality, child‑centred care within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based speech and language interventions.
• Manage a general paediatric caseload, including children with complex needs.
• Develop individualized therapy programmes that place children and families at the centre of care.
• Collaborate with families, teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development.

Required profile

• Qualified Speech & Language Therapist, registered with the HCPC.
• Enthusiastic, motivated and able to work with children of varying ages and abilities.
• Newly qualified therapists are welcomed and will receive structured supervision and mentorship.
• Commitment to delivering safe, evidence‑based, child‑focused care.

Required skills

• Assessment and diagnostic skills for speech, language and communication disorders.
• Design and delivery of therapeutic interventions.
• Effective multidisciplinary teamwork and communication with families.
• Accurate clinical documentation and use of NHS systems.
